Where do I start?
Building projects can be as exciting as they are daunting. You may not know where to start, what plans you need, what building regulations requirements will be, when to instruct a structural engineer or how to manage your contractor and ensure their quote and subsequent payment demands are fair. Over the following pages, we attempt to demystify the Project Process to help you understand how a project gets from an idea to a built reality, in the most affordable and least stressful way and how to avoid the myriad of pitfalls that will confront you along the way.

When clients initially approach us, they have often been unable to find clear information on where to start and what the different stages of the build process look like. Our simple flow chart below shows the stages in which a project goes through to reach a successful conclusion.

What does it cost?
All project fees are different as all projects are different but we understand it's helpful to have to have an early idea of what the costs might be for all the things that are not included in a builder's quote.
We will prepare a free of charge Fee Quote for each individual project once we understand your wants and needs, however we have detailed a guide below so you know what to expect. The 'from' prices reflect a small and simple project perhaps with a budget under £45,000. The 'to' costs reflect the larger domestic projects, with a budget up to around £300,000. However, we undertake domestic projects all of sizes and have the capabilities to support projects of up to circa £2m.
For clarity, the costs include all relevant fees, submissions and additional reports for the whole process, not just Clear Surveys Fees. Click on any of the stages below for further information.
