Surveyor and Founder
My name is Ben Clear and I founded Clear Surveys in 2018.
My experience in the building industry started early as the son of a builder. I was always keen to help my Dad, and later I worked on the tools when I came home from University for the holidays. This gave me an early insight into the industry and is the foundations of my expertise today.
After achieving my Honours Degree, I set up my own construction company and also worked with my Dad at his company. His wealth of experience was invaluable. I later became Managing Director of his company, while still running my own.
This gave me the opportunity to work on a wide variety of building projects, gaining experience that I can apply to your building project within the services we offer. My construction background means I can see your project from the point of view of a contractor. This allows me to offer you advice and ideas that most surveyors cannot.
I decided to sell my company so that I could focus on the family business, as well as spending more time with my family.
Our reputation for taking on high quality and challenging projects grew. Clients and estate agents started coming to us, seeking advice on defects and issues with buildings they wanted to purchase or sell. This was a testament to the reputation we were building.
I had become known for my technical expertise and problem solving. In 2016 I was asked to join the Federation of Master Builders National Standards Committee. I served on the committee for ten years, assisting with difficult cases alongside an expert panel of builders from all over the UK and with experts from Trading Standards and Construction Law.
My experiences with this Committee put me in a strong position to be able to provide you with Contract Administrator services. I have a very in-depth knowledge of how things should be done and how important it is that a contractor adheres to their contract.
In 2018 I started Clear Surveys Ltd. Using my skills in defect identification to help people like you when you’re buying or selling your property. I’m able to provide detailed survey reports, identifying property defects and advising you on the cost of repairs.
I made the difficult choice to close the family business in 2022. It was a tough decision after 41 years of trading. But I needed to focus on Clear Surveys and my wife and young children who deserved more of my time. Many of the contractors I am happy to recommend to you today are the trades people I worked with for many years in the family business.
I’m proud to be the founder of Clear Surveys. A company that has a reputation for providing exceptional building project support and homebuyer and damp proof surveys for many clients.

Surveyor
Frazer Jessop started his career in the surveying industry right after finishing school, embarking on an apprenticeship as a Surveying Technician. He achieved a distinction in his studies and began to delve into various aspects of surveying and property management, earning his AssocRICS qualification in 2019.
His diverse experience in surveying and management has enhanced his understanding of both commercial and residential properties, as well as project management.
At Clear Surveys, Frazer is involved in undertaking detailed homebuyer surveys, along with a range of other residential and commercial survey work. Including specialised contract administration and overseeing projects of all sizes.
His expertise and experience mean he can provide you with high quality surveys that protect you from unexpected expenses. When acting as your contract administrator, he ensures work is carried out to the high standards you deserve and that your interests are protected throughout the project.
Away from his surveying work, Frazer enjoys playing golf and spending quality time with his family.
Office Manager
After achieving her degree in Primary Education, and teaching for many years, Sam decided it was time for a change of direction and began a career within Business Support.
During this time, she has developed a diverse set of transferable skills. Her teaching background means she is passionate about supporting others and achieving results.
At Clear Surveys Sam is providing high level customer support to our clients and performing a variety of administrative support duties.
In her spare time, she enjoys long walks with her husband Dave and cocker spaniel Keith. Her love of the sea means you will often find her paddle boarding around the coast.
